Logo & Stationery: The Artisan Palate
Challenge
Laura Martinez, a food writer for the flourishing artisan food industry came to us with a newly created business and a clean slate. Her request was for a logo design that was visually striking and distinctive. Laura’s marketing efforts often included appearances at industry events amongst a sea of competitors. She needed a visual identity that would stand out and leave a lasting impression on potential customers.
Strategy
We went to work with Laura starting with a comprehensive consultation session where we explored Laura’s goals and vision for The Artisan Palate. After collecting all of the information, we went to work on sketches and mood boards that included colors, shapes, illustrations, and found objects that were relevant to the direction of The Artisan Palate. From here, we developed 3 distinct logo design concepts that were presented to Laura for feedback. The concepts were composed of elements and objects reminiscent of the artisan food industry combined with modern elements and bold colors. We felt the need to steer away from the conventional food industry look-and-feel and to take on a more modern and eccentric approach that would give Laura the edge that she needed in order to stand out from the crowd. The final design ended up being a perfect combination of boldness, elegance, and uniqueness. The same design principles were applied to the business cards, letterheads, and envelopes.
Results
Laura could not be more pleased with the end product. The logo design has become the brand identity for The Artisan Palate, setting the tone for the up and coming business. Laura has applied the logo design on event materials including backdrops and embroidered table covers.
